Late, late, late Saturday night, I ended up jamming with 2 pally-pals from the band Model Student, and had the fortune to put myself behind a drumkit and wail.
Drumming has been an sweet, sweet release for me.  It’s very productive anger management and art therapy.  I’ve taken it up over the last year and don’t actually have a drumkit.  It’s amazing because I think have natural intuition and feel for it.  I’m actually decent at it — but not good, yet.  I normally play guitar, but the drums just have been an interesting experiment so far.  So, I’m curious and anytime I’m around a drumkit, I like to see what happens.
… especially after being out here for a couple of days.
Maybe you have an idea of how much I love using analogies, so I’ll use this one.  In dealing with things that make you angry, or upset, you may have a bit of pain and you may get a few blisters and your hands get all tore up, but — pretty soon those blisters turn into callouses, so that the next time you play, it really doesn’t hurt or bother you all that much.
Don’t let that pain stop you from making the beautiful sounds.
