Sackhoff’s response regarding Starbuck’s relationships at 4:03 in this video, is:
Yeah, she loved Lee, but I think what she realized in that moment was that she would never be able to give herself truly to him.
There’s this weird saying that you can love someone completely, but when you’re with them, you’re not as good as you could be. And I think, when she was with Lee, she doubted herself so much that she wasn’t as strong as she could be…
When she found Anders, she might’ve married him for the wrong reasons… [but] she found a person that let her be herself and not have to apologize for it, and she truly flourished with him. And with Lee, she was held back and scared.
So I think it was one of those things where she realized that she would never find her true potential with Lee.
